During my high school years, I was fortunate to coach a girls’ softball team, and that experience left a lasting impact on me. I realized that I could make a positive impact on young students through physical education and athletics. I pursued my passion for education and fitness with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati and a California Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. In addition, I hold a Single Subject Credential in Physical Education, a Supplemental Credential in Mathematics, and a Multiple Subject Credential. My educational goals for students are broad. When teaching Physical Education, I strive for my students to learn new skills, appreciate why fitness is important, and most importantly, have fun! In the academic area of mathematics, my goal for students is not only for them to learn math but to enjoy the process and be a more confidant learner. When I am not teaching running, cycling or swimming, I’m chasing after my two young grandsons who keep my busy.
