Even as young as a sophomore in high school, I knew I wanted to be a science teacher and tennis coach. The choice was clear to me once I saw how much I enjoyed working with kids. I originally thought I wanted to teach high school, but after student teaching in both a high school and junior high setting, I fell in love with the positive energy and enthusiasm the younger age brings. After receiving my BA in Biology from Pitzer College and my Single Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State, I began my teaching career. Two years later, I landed a job at Blach teaching science and coaching tennis. Blach holds a very special place in my heart. It’s where I met my husband 24 years ago, and the school my two kids attended as they grew up within the Los Altos School District. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing tennis, bike riding, hiking, and spending time with my family.
